Weeknotes vol. 3: 404, Chunk not found

It was a short week at Better Than Good HQ but we packed in as much as we could. We moved both design and development down the field a bit, which sometimes is all you can ask for!
Delegated types v.s. single table inheritance
I started noticing quite a bit of overlap in Braindrop fields and decided to take a step back and consider the overall structure of the data. I did a deep dive on single table inheritance v.s. delegated types and landed on delegated types due to performance advantages and overall it just feels more logical and future proof. Hopefully this week I’ll get that all buttoned up.
Logos, fonts, etc.
Phil finalized the logo and fonts. In the first prototype I had used the brain emoji (🧠) as a placeholder which has been slowly iterated into a super cool logo that scales nicely for it’s different uses and fits the Better Than Good vibes. The font is a variable font which is a massive win and means we can use it wherever we’d like.
The strategy has been strategized
I’ve been making stuff long enough to know that if you build it they certainly will not come. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on a pre and post launch strategy to get the good word out and put a stamp on it last Wednesday.

- Wrote “The road to Braindrop”
- Added a new ‘404, Chunk not found!’ page
- In very Garrett fashion I have a lot to do which means I’ve prioritized going from Mac to Linux after 20+ years on Mac.
